Meadowlakes Students are served by the Marble Falls School District which encompasses a very large area (268 square miles) including the communities of Marble Falls, Meadowlakes, Granite Shoals, Highland Haven, Cottonwood, Fairland, Smithwick, Horseshoe Bay South and Spicewood.

Meadowlakes is located next to the city of Marble Falls, TX and is approximately 48 miles NW of Austin, 86 miles N of San Antonio, 208 miles NW of Houston and 217 miles SW of Dallas, making is a centralized locale for many.

History of Meadowlakes

Meadowlakes development was started in 1973, followed by the creation of the Meadowlakes Municipal Utility District in 1974 to provide water, wastewater & drainage facilities for the community.  By 1982 the community consisted of 178 residents and 98 homes.  

The City is now governed by a mayor and 5 council members, all of whom serve without compensation.   The are now about 850 homes and over 1850 residents.  The MUD is now a Public Works Department and has been merged with the City Government. 

The Community consists of 519 acres, including the Hidden Lakes Golf Course, which is now owned by the City.
